Elie Wiesel is a novelist, philosopher, humanitarian, political activist and Holocaust survivor who won the 1986 Nobel Peace Prize. In 2006, his memoir of his experiences during the Holocaust, La Nuit, was chosen for Oprah’s Book club and has since spent 27 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller List.
